Abstract


In cognitive linguistics, which is one of the new branches of linguistics, metaphor finds a new meaning and turns from a mere linguistic state into a mental and abstract phenomenon. Conceptual metaphor opens the way to understanding the intertextual relationships of literary works; Because it is conventional and productive and relies on the understanding of one concept in terms of another concept and connects language to the mind and mental reserves. In fact, conceptual metaphor is a kind of mental construction that humans use to better understand the world. Considering the attitude and worldview of Khwaja Nizam al-Mulk and Renmat al-Maali towards the government and the words related to it such as Shah, Bait al-Mal, etc., in this research, which was carried out by an analytical and descriptive method, it was tried to use the approach Cognitive Linguistics is to investigate the types of metaphors in the policy and Qaboosnameh, which are prominent prose texts of the Seljuk period. In this way, after studying both works, all kinds of ontological, structural and directional metaphors were identified.
