Abstract
Magnitude thinking is a novel concept in cognitive psychology and cultural sociology, emphasizing multi-layered analysis, precision, holism, evaluation of impacts, and the complexity of phenomena. The present study aims to investigate the reflection of magnitude thinking in Iranian culture based on the Conceptual Model of Cultuling Analysis employing a qualitative approach and the cultuling analysis method, this research examined linguistic manifestations of this mode of thinking within Persian everyday discourse, classical poetry, and proverbs. The data consisted of cultulings associated with the five components of magnitude thinking (scale, impact, complexity, holism, and accuracy), collected from cultural texts and spoken language. These cultulings were analyzed using the analytical components of the conceptual model. The findings revealed that, while Iranian culture is rooted in a rich tradition of analytical and holistic thought, it sometimes displays tendencies toward simplification, hasty judgments, and emotional reactivity in everyday practice. This duality places Iranian culture in a mid-field position, suggesting the need for critical reflection and pedagogical intervention at educational and media levels. This study presents an innovative application of language analysis for identifying cultural thinking tendencies and offers implications for designing linguistic, identity-based, and academic policies aimed at euculturing.
