Abstract
The main subject of this writing consists above all in restoring the concept of the archeology of translation; from the strictly historical domain to that of the criticism of translations. The aim of the author of this article is to propose an approach capable of showing the archees which are at the origin of the elaboration of the text of the translation. This is why we use Foucault's ideas from The Archeology of Knowledge and those of other discourse theorists. Literary text is also one of the discursive texts whose unsaid requires an reading of the discursive conditions in order to access meaning. Much effort is devoted to it; theories such as semiotics, intertextuality, narratology, where translation studies itself contributes its theoretical ideas. While taking advantage of all the fields concerned, this article attempts to provide a method capable of revealing the unspoken of the text based on a discursive and analytical reading. The main contribution of such an approach is to discover and deepen the constitutive foundations of the translated text; foundations which relate to social, political, cultural, convictional problems etc. even the linguistic means of the target language, the quality of the teaching of the foreign language and the translation techniques at the time of the translator. This research is therefore a combination of discursive, reception and translation theories which attempt to reveal and deepen the metatext, once the text is analyzed. Keywords: Archeology of translation, translation, translation studies, Berman, Foucault, discourse, reception, intertextuality.
